Scope and Contents

A booklet containing pasted-in material with annotations, titled 'Some Account of John Henry Belville and of the Distribution of G.M.T. to Chronometer Makers in London, as written by Miss Belville, together with some further information on GHB'. The booklet begins with an account by Ruth Belville, daughter of J.H. Belville, of 'G.M. Time from Royal Observatory'. This is followed by related items of correspondence (including two letters in French), 1938-1940, and a newscutting on Miss Belville's death, 1943. Loose with the booklet is a letter from H.P. Hollis to M. Ditisheim, 11 May 1926, regarding Henry Belville, and Ditisheim's reply of 18 May.
