Letters and Latin odes from Bartholomew de Sanctis, 1823 - 1825
Scope and Contents
Five letters sent by de Sanctis to the Board of Longitude, along with two Latin odes; marked 'wild letters and various Latin and Italian odes'. De Sanctis was an Italian physician and Professor of Mathematics who fell on hard times following his move to England, ending his days in a workhouse. In one of the letters he remarks that he was 'without home' [RGO 14/40: 434v].
