Scope and Contents
Two sketches of the Royal Observatory by Caroline Smith [sister of George Airy's wife, Richarda Smith and of Elizabeth Smith], drawn circa 1836 during Airy's early occupancy of Greenwich. Accompanying the sketches is a note by George Airy, dated 1869, describing the layout and use of the buildings at the time of the sketch and subsequent changes made.
