Biographical / Historical

Ken Blackwell was born in Greenwich in 1911. He joined the staff of the Royal Observatory in 1927 and worked there until 1976, with a few months spent at the NAO in 1934, moving with the Observatory to Abinger during the war years and to Herstmonceux in 1953. With almost 50 years of service (4 years and 8 months), he was one of the longest serving members of RGO staff.
