Scope and Contents

Contents of a file so titled and ‘Closed Dec. 1972’. Requests from school children, teachers and the general public for booklets or information on astronomy and space, and for information on subjects such as telescopes, tide tables, meteorites, planets, Russian-made moon models, astrology, the Prime Meridian, clocks, and specific astronomical matters and events.

The letters include requests to identify observed astronomical phenomena (including Comet Bennett) and submissions of personal theories for evaluation (e.g. about the nature of the red spot on Jupiter, the formation of the Moon’s craters, a ‘Harmonic theory of the Solar System, ‘Gravity – some new theories’, a new Ice Age theory, and some musings on ‘Space explorations and reality’, etc.). Also included is a letter from spiritual healers predicting the appearance of a new ‘Star of David’.

Consecutive numbering is the archivist’s.
