Contents of a file so titled. Requests for information, photographs, posters and literature on astronomy and space, the sun, Moon, Herstmonceux Castle, clocks, and telescopes, etc. Many of the requests are from children or teachers doing school projects.

The file includes requests for information on subjects such as artificial satellites, comets, Flamsteed’s well, planetary satellites, eclipses, and requests for advice on careers in astronomy, etc. Some letters provide descriptions of observed astronomical phenomena (including Comet Bennett, satellites, meteors and fireballs), often with accompanying drawings. There is also a letter predicting the appearance of the Star of Bethlehem.

The 1973 letters include many concerning Comet Kohoutek, accompanied by a set of related notes on an RGO meeting called to address the growing interest in it.
