Scope and Contents

Correspondence with S.C.B. Gascoigne regarding the progress at Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd on optical tests and fitting the mercury band; the Anglo-Australian Telescope Board and Committee meetings; Redman's proposed visit to Australia; the Coudé spectrograph; and the International Astronomical Union meeting. There is also a letter from R.V. Willstrop, 6 August, and a report of his telephone conversation with Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd on 21 September 1973. Gascoigne's letter of 5 September encloses a newspaper cutting on the resignation of O.J. Eggen from the Anglo-Australian Telescope Board.
