Correspondence with S.C.B. Gascoigne regarding primary mirror figuring, secondary mirror testing, optical design calculations, auto-guiding, the Hartmann screen and R.L. Ford's visit to Redman concerning telescope and dome control. Gascoigne encloses notes by J.D. Pope on the latter's visit to Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd on 9-11 March 1971, and also minutes of the company's meeting with representatives of the Anglo-Australian Telescope.
