Correspondence regarding the mirror alignment system and Redman's inspection, including a letter from H.C. Minnett, 23 April 1970, enclosing copies of his correspondence with Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd on the 'Alignment System for the Anglo-Australian Telescope, Stage I Report', which includes Redman's pencilled comments; Redman's correspondence with Minnett and D.S. Brown regarding his inspection of mirror blanks, the first Coudé flat, crystallites in the optical surface of the primary mirror, alignment and the Cer-Vit Rod Focus Stabiliser; a letter from J.D. Pope to Redman, 8 June 1970, commenting on Redman's letter of 1 June, accompanied by Pope's notes on 'Cervit Rod Focus Stabilization', dated 30 July 1968; and Redman's correspondence with Minnett on photographic plate sizes to be used at the Cassegrain focus, with reference to a meeting with W.A. Goodsell, declination bearings and the French large telescope.
