A letter from Redman to M.H. Jeffery, 19 July 1968, regarding Redman's discussion with J.D. Pope, including mention of the telescope tube; the problems caused by dust at the Siding Spring Observatory; and worms, spur gears and friction drives. There are accompanying notes by Redman, dated 20 July, entitled 'Why Worms? Why Not?', written in reply to notes by J. Rothwell entitled 'Why Worms?', 5 July, a copy of which is included.
