Letter to Sir Joseph Banks
Scope and Contents
An undated photostat of a letter from Nevil Maskelyne to Sir Joseph Banks, 13 June 1793, informing him of the circumstances of the death of Gooch following a shipwreck in the South Atlantic. He has interviewed Pitts, who was Gooch's assistant at the time, and wants Banks to be aware of what took place.
