Scope and Contents
Correspondence between G.A. Harding and others regarding the agreement between the Science Research Council and the Committee for Scientific and Industrial Research on the future of the Cape and the organisation of work at the South African Astronomical Observatory. The letters include suggestions for the dispersal of various instruments, a copy of the draft inter-agency agreement, March 1969, with a revised copy, 14 May 1970; minutes of the council meeting of 19-20 February 1970 to discuss possible sites for the South African Astronomical Observatory; and a report on the 'South African Astronomical Observatory' outlining its future. The correspondents include the Revd R. Woolley, A. Hunter, F.J. Hewitt and M.W. Message of the Science Research Council and the Committee of Scientific and Industrial Research.
