Scope and Contents

Correspondence and papers regarding the Royal Greenwich Observatory Committee:

Correspondence regarding topics to be discussed at the R.G.O. Committee, including a letter from Sir Martin Ryle giving his views on the forthcoming large telescope project and Northern Hemisphere Observatory; a paper giving the views of astronomers at the R.G.O. as to what should be provided at the Northern Hemisphere Observatory and what research they would like to do; an unsigned paper on the provision of a 40-inch telescope and what research could be done with it; and a paper by J.W. Gietzen entitled 'Proposals for Introducing Computer Control of the Isaac Newton Telescope', 15 January 1973.
