Papers on the Yapp Telescope, 1956 - 1962
Scope and Contents
Papers regarding the refurbishment of the Yapp 36-inch Reflecting Telescope and the 30-inch Reflecting Telescope, concerned primarily with spectrographs and covering several topics, including Fehrenbach prisms for a proposed Schmidt telescope, the Schmidt Camera, the 30-inch telescope Coudé spectrograph and the Isaac Newton Telescope spectrograph. There is correspondence between Hilger and Watts; Chance-Pilkington; Parra-Mantois; the Admiralty; G.M. Sisson of Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd; K.J. Hubble of the National Physical Laboratory; Bausch and Lomb; G. Herbig of the Lick Observatory; B.E.J. Pagel; and Sir Richard Woolley. There are also notes, specifications and drawings by Pagel, and drawings of Fehrenbach prisms by Pagel and Woolley, and of the 30-inch Coudé spectrograph by A. Morris.
