Scope and Contents

Personal correspondence of Sir Richard Woolley regarding lectures, dinners, membership of various institutions, newspaper interviews, book reviews and other subjects. There is correspondence with tradesmen, insurance companies and hotels; with various societies, universities, schools, observatories and other institutions; and with individuals. The correspondents include S.D. Pickelman, Crimean Astrophysical Observatory; the Royal Society of Arts; the Royal Society of Health; Russian astronomers, concerning Dr Woolley's visit to the Soviet Union; M. Tuominen, Helsinki; R.O. Redman; the Royal Society; the Royal Astronomical Society; the Royal Empire Society; W.M. Smart; P. Swings at Liège; G.T. Whitrow; 'Who's Who in British Science'; Professor McMillan of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science; Professor Zveiev; and D. Brouwer, U.S.A.
