Papers regarding external courses available to Science Research Council and Royal Greenwich Observatory employees, comprised of correspondence, brochures and memoranda regarding prospective courses and the eligibility for these courses of members of staff. The papers include correspondence between Sir Richard Woolley and the Science Research Council concerning the latter's provision of courses and its over-emphasis (as Woolley sees it) on the importance of particular courses. There are also many prospectuses from colleges and universities wishing to recruit students to their particular establishment, including the Eastbourne College of Further Education, Imperial College and the Institute of Physics.
