Scope and Contents
(1) Correspondence and papers regarding the Royal Observatory, Cape of Good Hope, 1963-1966, including the change from the Admiralty to the Science and Education Research Council, the position of the work of the Cape Observatory, changes of personnel, the inauguration of the 40-inch telescope, travel between United Kingdom and the Cape, accounting matters and transfers of accounting duties from the Admiralty, and staffing at the Cape.
(2) Correspondence regarding the Cape Observatory, 1966-1968, including the future of the Observatory, reports by D.S. Evans on an outstation for the Cape, the purchase of houses for Cape staff, and staffing arrangements for the testing at Sutherland.
(3) Correspondence regarding the Cape Observatory, 1965-1968, including new vehicles for the Cape and Sutherland and future staffing arrangements at the Cape.
