Papers regarding the University of Sussex, including minutes of the Education Committee for 5 June 1956; a report by members of the Education Committee for the proposed University College of Sussex, as approved by Brighton Town Council on 27 November 1958; a memorandum by the Director of Education for the Borough of Brighton regarding the University College of Sussex; a ground plan of the proposed site of the University College of Sussex; the memorandum and Articles of Association of the University College of Sussex, incorporated 20 May 1959; a copy of the Charter of the University of Sussex, dating from July 1961; the report of the Working Party for the Centre for Audio-Visual and Academic Services, dated September 1965; papers submitted to the University Grants Committee in November 1968 for the quinquennium, 1967-1972; the University of Sussex Faculty Handbook for October 1965; annual reports 1-3, 5-7 and 11-12, covering the years 1959-1962, 1963-1966 and 1969-1971 respectively; and a brief prospectus of the University, intended to help raise extra funds.
