Correspondence between Sir Richard Woolley and M.W. Ovenden of the University Observatory, Glasgow, regarding the need to postulate a greater variation of temperature across the inner surfaces of the stars than seems compatible with reflection energy considerations for 57 cygni, and asking for references to anything published by Olin Eggen on a similar difficulty with regard to the colours of closed binary stars.
