Letter from R. Atkinson, Royal Observatory, Greenwich, 13 July 1948, regarding the Greenwich Time Station and Herstmonceux.

Letter from S.D. Gossner, Harvard College Observatory, 9 June 1949, containing a summary of available data on star counts and charts of corresponding regions appearing in the Ross-Calvert Atlas of the Milky Way.

Letter from L.S.T. Symms, Royal Observatory, Greenwich, 12 August 1952, enclosing a copy of his letter to R. Tucker, Abinger, on Bamburg residuals and comparisons with FK3 places of stars.

Letter from W.H. Munk, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, California, 25 March 1953, on the Earth's core, magnetic field and length of day.

Letters concerning dictionary entries compiled by Spencer Jones on astronomers and astronomy for a reference work by Victoria Publications (London) Ltd, 1955-1956.

Correspondence with the Paul Instrument Fund Committee, 1956, concerning the application by B.V. Bowden and A. Buraway, College of Technology, Manchester, for a grant for the development of narrow pass band dye filters, with manuscript notes by Spencer Jones as assessor and letters from Bowden and D.C. Martin, Royal Society.
