The file contains two letters from October 1915 and one from April 1916, but the remainder date from the Michaelmas Term of 1916. The letters do not dwell greatly on the events of the First World War as such, but there are a number of references in this file, chiefly through the bereavements of fellow Girtonians; also the diversion of Freshers' Rag funds to the entertaining of wounded soldiers, mentioned in letters of 26 November and 3 December 1916.
