File containing ‘Dorneford: an outline for an Edwardian serial devised by Peter Buckman & P D James from an idea by P D James’, first draft November 1992, and first draft (revised) November 1992 (the revised draft being entitled ‘The Estate’), together with related correspondence between PDJ and Peter Buckman, 1992-93. Also a letter dated 25 November 2010 regretting, in the light of the success of ‘Downton Abbey’, the fact that the ‘The Estate’ was never televised.
