Postcard collection, 1906 - 1920
Scope and Contents
Chiefly topographical. Although the majority of the cards are blank, some have been posted. One (at 942 L 84) is from Andreas Pavley to say that he has signed a contract with Pavlova [nd], another is from Eugenie Sellers Strong in 1917.

Biographical / Historical
Evidence that the postcard collection was made by Kathleen Martin lies in a card addressed to Miss Martin from 'CU' from Paris asking if 'any pcs are wanted'. It is very probable that this is the Kate Martin who was assistant to Eugenie Sellers Strong in the library of the British School at Rome.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
It is probable that the postcards came to Girton through the connection with Eugenie Sellers Strong but there is no documentation to support this. The postcards were found in the Bursar's Clerk's Office in 1988
