Letter from Anna Mary Howitt to Bessie Parkes, 1855-05-24
Scope and Contents
Two page letter with envelope addressed to Miss Parkes, 2 Savile Row, Burlington Gardens. The printing of the 'Australian book' is coming to an end. Anna appears to be rather dispirited although she has no special cause for anxiety. She has decided not to go to Miss [Charlotte] Cushman's. She has a 'heap of Art books' to review from Mr [John] Chapman. She has seen D[ante] G[abriel] R[ossetti] who spoke with admiration of Bessie's 'Voluntaries' [one of her poems].
