Letter from [Bessie Parkes] to Mary Merryweather, addressed from Culverdens, Tunbridge Wells
Scope and Contents
Bessie has been reading Joanna Baillie’s plays, writing a paper on France and ‘being polite to the Byrne household’. She will have to ‘settle that matter of Sam’ [Blackwell] when she gets back. She feels it would be better if she thought he would be happy without her. Her common sense says no but her feelings sometimes say yes. Partial letter only: one page with a corner cut off, together with a partial transcript one page.
