Scope and Contents
Dorothy Needham wrote many letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience, and fragmentary manuscript drafts of some of these survive. These files also include letters to D N from Robert Rhodes James, MP for Cambridge, 1978 and 1979. Five files, as follows:
File 1: Amnesty International literature;
File 2: Ms drafts of D N's letters on behalf of prisoners;
File 3: Correspondence received in reply to the above;
File 4: Papers concerning activities of Amnesty International, chiefly the Cambridge branch;
File 5: Further correspondence re prisoners of conscience and human rights together with ms drafts of D N's letters on behalf of prisoners.

Conditions Governing Access
Dorothy Needham's estate passed to her late husband Joseph. It is now held with his by the Needham Research Institute, 8 Sylvester Road, Cambridge CB3 9AF.
