Comprising chiefly letters received by Dorothy Needham from friends, relatives and colleagues. Many letters are addressed to both Dorothy and Joseph Needham and some are also addressed to Gwei-Djen Lu. Outgoing correspondence is poorly documented by a very few carbon copies and some rough manuscript drafts.
