'Women in Cambridge Biochemistry', 1978 - 1982
Scope and Contents
In 1978 Dorothy Needham was approached to write a chapter for Women Scientists: the Road to Liberation, relating her personal experience of the position of women in science. The book was edited by D Richter and published by Macmillan in 1982. 4 files as follows:
1. Correspondence from Richter with drafts of D N’s replies 1978, 1981;
2. D N’s manuscript notes for her contribution. Also includes draft of her letter to Alison Duke, Girton College, asking for information on her student career at Cambridge from 1919, with A D’s reply;
3. Heavily corrected typescript drafts of D N's contribution;
4. 6pp typescript copy as sent, September 1978, also reviews of Women Scientists 1982.

Conditions Governing Access
Dorothy Needham's estate passed to her late husband Joseph. It is now held with his by the Needham Research Institute, 8 Sylvester Road, Cambridge CB3 9AF.
