Scope and Contents
First edition March 2000. Pages 19-20 contain reminiscences of P D James, ‘Probably our most famous old girl’, in which she discusses the following: uniform; the idea that the school might have been the model for Ronald Searle’s St Trinian’s cartoons; deportment; and subjects and teachers, particularly Miss Maisie Dalgliesh, PDJ’s English teacher, after whom she later named her character Commander Adam Dalgliesh. There is also discussion of the headship of Roma Brookes [Girton 1935], 1961-1976, beginning on page 44, together with a full page black and white photograph of Miss Brookes on page 58.
