Scope and Contents

Written in Paris and while on holiday in Perros-Guirec in Brittany. Other than being in Paris, life seems to continue much as normal. Alethea meets up with various French acquaintances including Gilo Erlande, Mme Erlande and 'Zelle (her mother's old governess). She attends some lectures at the Sorbonne. She also attends high mass in church - 'I loved the incense - - '. Entries are lengthy but infrequent. She meets up with Agatha and Aelfrida at the beginning of July and they go together to Perros-Guirec in Brittany via Chartres and Rennes. Loose: news cutting concerning the election of Thomas Henn to a fellowship at St Catharine's College 5 July. At back: photographs taken at Ploumanach July 1926; also photo of Perse Upper VI Lent Term 1926 with key to names including Alethea and Isabel[la] Drummond; also Alethea at Merton House April 1926; and Agatha, Cara and Pattie and Robert Tillyard at Fordfield June 1926.
