5) Letter from Margaret Chapman to the Mistress of Girton, 20 September 1950: this was a covering letter in a parcel in which M C sent ‘a few papers of our old friend Alice Zimmern’ [M C and her husband (a classicist himself) had been close friends of A Z’s for many years in London]. She makes a brief mention of Alice Kendon, a family friend (G 1949).
