Scope and Contents
Proofs of colour illustrations by Véra Willoughby for 'A Vision of Greece', published in 1925, in which Gladys Skelton (née Williams) was involved or had an interest.
The illustrations include several untitled figures and landscapes; others are titled in pencil as follows: Judgement of Paris; Klytemnestra; Mount Ida; Parthenon; Salamis from Aigina; Marathonaikos; Salamis; Ariadne; Theseus and Ariadne; Lion Gate, Mycenae; and the Vengeance of Orestes.
[The illustrations were found in a copy of 'Memoirs of a Lady of Quality: being Lady Vane's Memoirs', illustrated by Véra Willoughby, London 1925, and signed to John Presland [pen name of Gladys Skelton], London 1925, which is now held in Girton College Library.]
