'Women and Original Research', 1900-11
Scope and Contents
Reprinted from Frances Mary Buss Schools Jubilee Magazine, this article revolves largely around changes in the education of girls and women in the fifty years to 1900 and the continuing 'difficulties which prevent women from working at scientific research'. She concludes that 'Custom and some degree of prejudice close the doors of most of the learned Societies against women. In that respect we are little better off than our predecessors of fifty years ago. But when we meet on neutral ground I have always found the attitude of scientific men most generous to women workers. We cannot but regret that we are so often excluded from the stimulus of comradeship'. 3 copies.
