Scope and Contents
Text of a talk given by Beryl Platt at Chelmsford Cathedral on 2 January 1988 to those considering offering themselves for the Ministry of the Church and for those in training: she was asked to talk about the kind of world in which people are being called to the ministry and the opportunities for that ministry. Touches on equal opportunities and the Sex Discrimination Act in the context of the church and B P’s own faith and church work; the influence of her faith on her work, particularly the work of the Equal Opportunities Commission; and her position on the ordination of women.
