Handwritten copy of a poem by Lewis Campbell, written 27 September 1871, in 'Memorials in Verse and Prose' published by William Clowes and Sons Ltd, 1914. Lewis Campbell was a supporter of St Leonards School, which was founded by Constance Maynard and Louisa Lumsden.
The poem is based on Greek myth concerning Admetus, Alcestis and Apollo.
