Biographical / Historical
'Coffee Pot Clubs’ were established for people living in large towns and cities who wished to make friends. The first club was formed in 1954 in London by Jean Lindsay. ‘The original club was for young graduates and professional people, and took the form of a weekly ‘at home’ where they could meet and talk’. Later clubs did not have strict entry qualifications.
