Correspondence between P D James and Downing College, Cambridge concerning the following:
Invitation to Downing as guest of honour for a Friday night dinner, 1985;
Election of PDJ to an Associate Fellowship at Downing, 1986 and subsequent offer by PDJ to Downing of a prize for creative writing, 1986, including notes on the P D James Prize, 29 September 1986;
Renewal of Associate Fellowship for three years from 1991;
Continued funding of the above prize as the Treherne Prize for Creative Writing, in memory of John Treherne, 1991-2012.
The file also contains a draft of an interview of PDJ conducted by Sandra Stafford relating to the Treherne Prize, 2008; and the text of a speech given by PDJ at the Downing bicentenary dinner 23 September 2000. (The file also contains a copy of the Downing College Record 2014 but there is no obvious specific connection such as a death announcement for PDJ.)
