'Notes on the Spanish situation 1975 when Franco was dying and afterwards in first year of Juan Carlos', 1975 - 1977

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, papers and cuttings compiled and collected during a month spent by Helen Grant in Spain in connection with work for a project for which she had been awarded a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellowship. During this month she interviewed several Spanish politicians, including Coll Alentorn, Joan Reventos-Angli, Jordi Pujol and Sr Canyellas. The file includes the following:
letters from H G to The Times and the BBC, November 1975, passing on various points of note from the politicians whom she had recently interviewed and her own opinion on the political situation in Spain;
17pp typescript report by H G on the political situation in Spain, with ms marginalia, undated [circa November 1975];
9pp typescript report by H G entitled 'Summary of recent events in Spain and problems arising for the Government and the opposition' [February 1976];
copy of a letter from Alex Grant (in Madrid) to Clive [?], 19 March 1976, concerning the political situation in Spain;
handwritten letter from Alex [Grant] to Helen [Grant] from Madrid, 10 May 1977, concerning the political situation in Spain;
