[Helen Grant chaired the Girton College Committee which dealt with the publication of Miscelanea Crews: eventually published in 1979 in Estudios Sefardies, it contains Cynthia Crews’ ‘Textos judeo-espanoles de Salonica y Sarajevo con comentarios linguisticos y glosario’ and related articles.] The correspondence, some in Spanish, includes a detailed letter from H G to Jacob Hassan, 12 May 1975, explaining the arrangement in which Cynthia Crews’ Judeo-Spanish dictionary slips were sent to the Instituto Arias Montano. File also contains 5pp report by Colin Smith entitled ‘The Department of Spanish’ [Cambridge University], giving the history of the Department and a description of its current work, together with related letter, 1981, re changes to the report suggested by Helen Grant.
