This section includes personal, academic and political correspondence. It is arranged broadly chronologically within broad areas, as follows:
GCPP Grant 2/1-2 comprise miscellaneous correspondence, including some political matters;
GCPP Grant 2/3-4b comprise correspondence of political interest;
GCPP Grant 2/5 comprises correspondence concerning 'Miscelanea Crews', ie publication of the work of Cynthia Crews;
GCPP Grant 2/6 comprises correspondence relating to a Festschrift for Helen Grant;
GCPP Grant 2/7 concerns the Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese;
GCPP Grant 2/8-15 comprise files of letters from individual correspondents, arranged alphabetically by surname of correspondent. There are also letters from some of these individual correspondents in the miscellaneous files above, but the files have all been listed as found, on the assumption that they may have been arranged by Helen Grant herself, although this is not always certain.
It is assumed from the relatively late date of most of the correspondence listed here that earlier correspondence has not survived (most of the correspondence dates from the 1970s onwards; only a handful of items date from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s).
