8 Bishopgate St., Monday [undated].
Dear Miss Gamble, The enclosed is a letter I received this morning. I have been trying to call on you for some time but living at Sheen and the shortness of the days has prevented. I hope you may come to Sheen when I will shew a letter from Wickoff in which he admits all his iniquities says he thinks he must have been mad and asks to be reinstated into his position as formerly of course I have given him no answer nor would I see him. I may therefore expect his hostility in the New York Herald.
