In 1994 Lilian Furst wrote a biographical essay entitled 'Born to Compare': The Rachel Chronicles appear to have been written as a fuller development of this during her last years when she could no longer read and do research.

DateText: There are no specific dates in the individual chapters: however, it is thought that L F began working on them around 2000. They were completed by 2005 & converted from WordPerfect to MS Word by Madeline Levine, L F's closest friend, in 2006.
