Of particular note in this collection are the first few letters that GF wrote home, and the letters that she wrote to her sister B after their brother P’s death in October 1928. It seems as if the collection contains the complete set of letters written home during these periods, providing the reader with a useful sense of continuity of GF’s life at Girton. Almost the same degree of continuity can be gauged for a month of her Easter Term in 1927.
