Letter from T D [Thomas Dyke] Acland, Oxford, to [Emily Davies], 1863-05-08
Scope and Contents
ED's letters to TDA of 19 and 30 January have impressed people hitherto opposed to her proposal. [In Emily Davies, Collected Letters, pp. 34-36, 38-39.] Advises writing a fly-sheet, circulating the letters to [Oxford] common rooms, forming a committee in London to guarantee expenses, including payments to examiners, and asking the Delegates' permission to print extra copies of the examination papers. Most of the extra work would lie in modern languages, literature and the arts. Copy. [The original letter is at GCPP Davies 8/141/4.]
