Letter from S E [Emily] Davies to Anna [Richardson], 1862-07-12
Scope and Contents
Asks if ADR is willing to help with Local Examinations, by giving names of headmistresses and governesses who might sign a memorial. Sees the main value of the examinations as giving access to the University of London, for 'the encouragement to learning is most wanted after the age of eighteen'. Dislikes agitation but accepts it a means to the end, which is being fought for on behalf of those who cannot fight for themselves. 2 pages.
