Pencil and ink sketch, 1844
Scope and Contents
The sketch is titled 'People looking at our carriage' and shows the heads of two men and a woman, in profile, looking in same direction. The carriage was Benjamin Leigh Smith's horse-drawn omnibus used for family outings. Found in Norton, C, 'English Laws for Women in the Nineteenth Century', London, 1884 (between pages 120 and 121).
