Portrait in ink of Barbara Bodichon with paintbrush and palette in front of easel, 1860
Scope and Contents
Presented by friends to Girton College in 1949. This is a sketch for a large portrait given by various subscribers to Girton in 1885, which hung in Girton College from 1885 until 1955 [probably only until 1926], when it was removed by the Leigh Smith family in favour of a replacement by Samuel Lawrence. A photograph of the original was reproduced in Women's Suffrage (Helen Blackburn, London 1902).
