Letter from Emily Davies to Barbara Bodichon, 1875-07
Scope and Contents
On further reflection I think we should postpone the work at Girton - better to pay off loan. Does not matter if place looks unfinished - it brings home to people that we do not have money. Only the Mistress' rooms seem really urgent [Miss Gertrude Jekyll, a friend of Barbara Bodichon, advised on a scheme of colouring for work throughout the building, though the cost was more than the College could afford].
