The letters are affectionate in parts but there doesn't appear to have been any sort of firm relationship between the two. A letter dated 16 May 1960 is headed 'The Cambridge Expedition to British Guiana 1960' and in it 'Neill' turns down a trip to Oberammergau with RB and others in favour of the said expedition. [The letter was found torn up into pieces but the pieces have been put together in a polyester envelope.]
