Letters to Sophia Turle from Mary Turle, 1886
Scope and Contents
Four letters addressed to 'My dearest Soph', from 'Your loving sister Mary Turle', as follows:
1) Friday Sep. 3 [1886], written ‘On Steamer Constantine, Gulf of Finland’, describing travel in Finland and Russia (‘we travelled with Archduke Nicholas Uncle to the Emperor') and mentioning plans for going on to Denmark;
2) September [1886], addressed from a hotel in Copenhagen;
3) 20 September 1886, addressed from Hamburg;
4) [1886]; addressed to ‘Dearest Soph’ - appears to be from Mary Turle but the letter is incomplete, comprising the first sheet only; addressed from the Belle Vue Hotel, La Hague.
